NYC – HealthFirst "Leaf Exchange"

Hello – I’m located in NYC, a freelancer. Shopping on the NYstate of Health – the Official Health Plan Marketplace, looking into enrolling for the year 2024 starting Jan 1.  I do not qualify for Medicaid or Essential Plan. I believe I am the candidate for Qualified Health Plan – the 4 metal tiers. I am planning to select HealthFirst Leaf / Leaf Premier.

I have a condition, and the doctors I want to see take Healthfirst Bronze Leaf Exchange, Healthfirst Silver Leaf Exchange, or Healthfirst Gold Leaf Exchange, these are the exact terms they use. I will probably go for the Silver Leaf, but I do not understand what EXCHANGE stands for. I cannot find the word Exchange anywhere in the HealthFirst website or documentations. I’ve asked HealthFirst directly but the person on the other line had no idea what the term ‘exchange’ came from.
Anyone know what Exchange means in the context of HealthFirst Leaf?

I’d just like to avoid the situation where I sign up for Leaf, and it turns out that my doctors only take Leaf Exchange. (I am paranoid due to past experiences with doctors only taking a specific type from an insurance company.) How can I make sure to sign up for Leaf Exchange?
