Disconnect about how Surest works

My work is now offering Surest as a health insurance option but I'm having a disconnect about how it functions, so hoping someone can help. The big benefit being pushed with Surest is being able to see the upfront cost for treatments, but the examples I see used on their site are relatively simple like "pink eye". Yeah, I can probably determine that myself and find somewhere cheap to get it looked at.

However, I don't get how this works when it comes to treatment recommendations from specialists. For example, lets says your PCP recommends you see a cardiologist for your heart rate. You use the Surest site/app to find a cardiologist at a cost you want. However, you visit the cardiologist and they recommend scheduling you for an echocardiogram but you don't see that as an option at their location in the Surest app/site. You see it listed as an option with varying prices at other places in the Surest app/site, but the cardiologist wants it done at their office. So at the point, do you either have to start over at a new cardiologist (again paying the initial visit cost) or you just loose out on the main benefit of Surest (up front pricing)? Thanks in advance any help. Sorry if I'm making this more confusing then it really is.
