Problem with claiming Metlife
I had a Metlife Dental PPO with my last employer until Febuary of this year. After that I started a new job and was enrolled in the same Dental PPO – there was no gap in my insurance coverage.
I submitted a claim for my orthodontic work in March, but the claim was assigned to my old policy, which was expired so they denied it. I called several times since April until now, saying I have a new policy and every time I call a representative would tell be they will escalate and I’d get a new outcome in 48 hours but nothing ever happened. One representative even told me when I ask to talk with someone higher up, that the only thing she could have done was notice the claim department with high priority and that’s all. I sent a new claim package in July with my new employer group number but they automatically assigned the old claim number to this new claim.
So I’m wondering if anyone has had the same experience and how did/would you deal with this case? TIA!
