I went to an in network dentist to have a cleaning done. They had my insurance information confirmed I made sure they did when I got there. I filled out paperwork before hand saying I had all procedures done a year ago. When I got there they asked me again I said I know for sure I had a cleaning done a year ago they asked me about XRAYs and I said I believe I put it on the paperwork as a year ago as well but I think it’s actually been about 2 years.

They then said ok we are going to check your teeth and do x ray pictures. They are doctors so I trusted them and figured I must need these things done. They then get most of the way through everything and say my cleaning will have to be scheduled for another day. I was a bit dejected as this was the only thing I actually came to do but I didn’t want to be rude as the doctor apparently had a migraine so I just said ok. I get to them the next day and they said oh here for pictures? I stated actually no I really only came for a cleaning, though they took pictures the other day. I get my cleaning done.

I get an email from my insurance and apparently everything was covered except the most expensive Panasonic thing as I am only allowed one every 36 months. I now believe I might have to pay for that but I never even wanted this done they made it seem like I needed it done after I told them the last time I had everything done was one-two years ago.

TLDR: I scheduled the appointment specifically only for a cleaning. They made it seem I needed to get X-ray pics done. Insurance isn’t covering it. How screwed am I?
