Need guidance on appeal because my insurance thinks code 81513 is not medically necessary

This all started when I did a pap smear at a gynecologist's office.

Pretty much my insurance (through my employer) is denying one of the codes listed under this claim because it is not medically necessary. The letter I received regarding this also states that the medical file was sent to an independent physician for review and the testing under 81513 is not identified as widely used and multi pathogen panels are not currently recommended or under her plan unless all pathogens tested in the panel meet the requirements criteria.

This smells like bs because women's health is covered by my insurance and I looked up the code and the testing seems to be related to vaginitis. I really do not want to pay for something my insurance should cover.

I am given the option to appeal but I'm not sure how to make a strong case. I've love to hear people's insight on this.
