The Financial Services Council (FSC) of Taiwan organised a colloquium with the aim of fostering closer communication with insurance-related companies and associations.

Held in September, the event sought to bolster internal audit mechanisms, ensuring enhanced effectiveness within the industry.

Chief internal auditors from life insurance companies, non-life insurance companies, and reinsurance companies, in addition to representatives from the life insurance association and non-life insurance association, were in attendance.

The discussions during the session encompassed a spectrum of critical topics, including the primary examination findings related to the utilisation of insurer’s funds in special projects, investments in foreign securities, protection of the interests of the elderly and individuals with disabilities, as well as the key shortcomings in personal data protection.

In the seminar, the FSC also highlighted the significance of anti-fraud measures, anti-corruption initiatives, and the imperative of gender equality within the sector.
