hello I'm older I've been working on my PhD for a while and I've been getting my insurance through the University. but I also have a full-time job which I've declined insurance through because it's not as good as what I get to the university. but I'm concerned I'm going to lose my full-time job here coming up which means I won't be able to pay my tuition the next semester which then will mean I'll lose my insurance. I'm not sure if Cobra is something that works for a university plan. I'm really scared about having a gap in between while I try to find something else to switch to so I was curious if anyone had any advice on what course of action I should take. should I drop the university insurance and switch to the my work insurance just in case I lose my job. I don't even know if I can do that technically. but then at least I'd have cobra.
