Do my insurance claims seem suspicious?

For every time I’ve received a claim I have always paid more than my insurance. It’s to the point where my insurance is basically just a coupon. My deductible is $7500, very very rarely do I hit it.

I am here asking this question because often when I complain about how high my medical bills are, people are under the impression I don’t even have insurance and tell me “just get health insurance” when I already have it. Here are some examples:

In February I had a procedure where my insurance was billed $8,000. They only covered $2,000 and left me with $6,000. Another time I went to urgent care for a UTI. I was billed $305. My insurance covered $120.55 leaving me with $184.45. That’s clearly a smaller one. Lastly I received a bill for around $680. My insurance only covered $50.

I always thought this was completely normal and that it’s just how it is. As I said however, people have been under the impression I had no health insurance because of how high my bills were. I’ve also had a few people telling me that these are not normal amounts for me to be paying when I have health insurance. Someone even suggested the providers I’ve seen are engaging in fishy billing. Does this sound normal? Apologies if this is normal activity and I’ve just been led down a suspicious road.
