Everest Reinsurance has announced the appointment of Marco Schiattone as global head of financial risk.

Schiattone brings over 20 years of experience in leading global credit and financial risk teams to his new role. He most recently served at PartnerRe, where he led the financial risk business for Latin America and Southern Europe. Additionally, he held the position of product leader for the Medium-Long Term Credit and Political Risks (MLTCP) portfolio.

Throughout his career, Schiattone held various underwriting roles in credit, surety, and political risks, with increasing responsibilities, at prominent firms such as Arch Re, Ariel Re, Swiss Re, SACE, and Generali.

He holds a Master’s degree in international economics and diplomacy from the University of Trieste and a doctorate in international finance from the École des Ponts-ParisTech. Schiattone is an active contributor to organisations such as the Pan American Surety Association and the International Credit Insurance and Surety Association. He is also a member of the International Institute for Strategic Studies and serves as an Adjunct Professor of Country Risk Management at MIB Trieste, School of Management.

Based in Zurich, Schiattone will report to Artur Klinger, head of international reinsurance.

“From credit and surety to political risk and mortgage, Marco will lead a unified underwriting strategy focused on solving our clients’ and brokers’ most complex risks,” Klinger said. “His extensive global financial risk expertise and deep global relationship network is key to driving growth opportunities as we continue to deepen our foothold in markets around the world.”
