Why am I receiving hospital bills?

Hey there! So I currently have ambetter health insurance through the marketplace. 2 months ago, I had to go to the emergency room twice and the second time was somewhat serious. I dont ever remember getting bills from any of my past visits. But I recently started receiving bills in the mail for both visits and I dont understand them at all. it says that they mailed my insurance but that the unpaid balance was my responsibility. it shows

1st visit:

Total Payments Current Balance Payment Due By Amount You Owe $945.70 $405.40 09/12/23 $405.30

2nd visit:

Total Payments Current Balance Payment Due By Amount You Owe $946.73 $406.33 09/15/23 $406.33

I dont understand why im receiving a bill in the first place and where they are getting these amounts rom. Like wtf is total payments? I haven't made any payments yet….. and where are they getting that amount from? I am just confused in general so if someone could explain this to me I would love you forever lol thank you
