Insurance Question after meningitis scare

My wife had a 1 week trial with a spinal cord stimulator, and at the ende of the trial ended up in the ER with meningitis and was admitted to the hospital for 2 weeks and nearly died. She has been out of the hospital a month now and doing well, but we haven’t seen a bill yet. Is this something our insurance will help pay for, or the doctors insurance, or will we be stuck with a massive bill on our own?

We got a letter from our insurance asking if my wife had an accident that caused her an extended stay in a hospital, and my initial thought was nothing like a car accident or something physical….but then I got to thinking well she didn’t intentionally get meningitis? I’m not sure if our insurance company is angling for something? I just don’t want to get stuck with the entire bill. My wife thinks our insurance will cover it(she hasn’t looked into, just expects that is what insurance is for), and thinks I’m acting like an “ambulance chaser” when I ask questions. Maybe I’m over thinking it…

Maybe there is a better place to ask this question, but figured I would start here
