Any way to dispute monthly estimates?

I got quoted $116/month for 3M, 20yr term insurance. I have an excellent health history and live a healthy lifestyle. However, when they confirmed my insurance the actual monthly fee came to $246/mo.

The increase, they explained is because of a single test my doctor ordered a couple years ago – a thyroid ultrasound. She thought she felt a couple nodules and wanted to make sure it wasn’t anything to be concerned about. It was nothing to be concerned about, according to the results and my doctor, and I have had no issues since. However, because I now have a thyroid “history” and because one of the measurements on the nodules was a certain size, they decided they couldn’t put me in their best preferred rate (apparently I’m in the third preferred, whatever that means).

It seems crazy to me that a single test, that my doctor deemed to be of no concern, could cause my rate to more than double. Is there any recourse I have for this? Besides trying another company?
