Need help with how to proceed with ACA insurance now that I’m offered employer insurance

So I have a bit of a dilemma, and I'm not sure of the laws, rules. regulations involving ACA insurance in my situation. Relevant backstory is for the past 5 years I've had to buy insurance through the exchange in Connecticut because my employer was small enough that he didn't have to offer health insurance, so he didn't. I pay a high premium through the exchange ($985/month) because my income is decent. Now however, my previous owner sold the business, and my new employer does offer insurance, silver plan at about $300/ month. Paying $700 a month less would be beneficial to me.

Here is where it gets complicated. I have Grave's and TED, and my doctors have fought for a few months to get me approved for a 2nd round of very expensive Tepezza treatments. The approval came through, but I would have to keep paying the premiums on my existing ACA insurance. I'm inclined to do that, but what I want to know is it legal, because now my employer does offer insurance. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I seem to remember I could only buy insurance through the exchange if my employer didn't offer insurance. And I don't want to risk having the new insurance carrier if I switch to employer insurance not approve the treatments.

I'm also considering having 2 insurances, signing up for my employer's insurance, and keep paying for the ACA insurance, and then dropping that once I've completed my treatments (would take about 5 months). Again, not sure if that is allowed.

Any insight/advice would be appreciated. Thanks
