Hi, first post ever sorry if I do a couple things wrong here.

I semi-recently went to see my PCP and got a referral for a psychiatrist for my anxiety until 8/22/2023. I've been making good progress with the appointments and I want to continue seeing him but I'm past my expiration date for when my insurance will cover part of the cost. I was wondering if a referral extension is a thing and if I just have to contact my PCP and ask them to extend it, or make a whole appointment with my PCP and explain that I just need it extended, or if since I'm already seeing this psychiatrist my insurance will keep helping me. I'm going to call my PCP regardless to figure out next steps, but I'd like to know if anyone who has experience with this has any information that could help me, this is the first time I've ever had insurance so I'm pretty clueless about all this stuff.

Additional Info:

State: TX

Insurance: Ambetter

Plan: CMS Standard Gold VALUE

Referral Start/End Date: 5/23/2023 to 8/22/2023 (Visits used 3/12)
