2027 Toyota Corolla Pickup

Overview

The compact pickup-truck segment is heating up and now it sounds like Toyota is planning to get into the game with a Corolla-based truck. While it’s unknown at this point whether it will be called Corolla Pickup or wear a name from Toyota’s past, such as Stout, we suspect that plans for a mini truck are already in the works. The success of the Ford Maverick and the Hyundai Santa Cruz serves to illustrate the appeal of a compact truck, even if their capabilities are far less than those of their larger brethren. We don’t have any details about the Corolla Pickup yet, but it could come with a 196-hp all-wheel-drive hybrid setup borrowed from the Corolla Cross Hybrid SUV. What we don’t expect to see is a GR Corolla Pickup based on the brand’s sport-compact hatchback—although, such a thing would be bonkers fun.

What’s New for 2027?

If it comes to fruition, the Corolla Pickup would be a new product for the Toyota brand and the fifth vehicle in what amounts to a growing Corolla subbrand which includes the Corolla compact car, the Corolla hatchback, the speedy GR Corolla, and the Corolla Cross.

Toyota hasn’t even confirmed the Corolla will spawn a pickup truck variant, let alone release details on pricing or trim levels. But if the rumors are true, the Corolla Pickup should join the Toyota lineup as a 2027 model with pricing similar to the Maverick—a key rival for any small pickup truck.
