HMO with a pcp that isn’t with insurance

I resigned from my job and will be losing my insurance at the end of the month. I already completed special enrollment and I wasn’t happy with anything but still chose a plan. My job provided me with a PPO and to continue with COBRA it would $625. Needless to say I thought I’d try something else until my PCP (who isn’t contracted with any insurance and is a non-negotiable for me as she literally is the only doctor that has helped me) told me I might have to still see a different pcp to get referrals and right now I’m a specialist magnet.

I’m kinda at a loss for what to do. Texas’ marketplace doesn’t have PPO plans, there are EPO plans but zero of my doctors are on them, and none of the hmo plans are close to what I have now.

I’m looking for options other than COBRA unless absolutely necessary. Do the different insurance companies offer insurance not on their websites to individuals? How crazy is it to go with out insurance and negotiate cash prices on everything?

Thanks in advance for help and advice. I personally feel like even if you have insurance, if something goes wrong you can still royally be f’ed by bills.
