Hey everyone, I’m trying to choose the best plan for my family and have 2 options that I’m considering. Some background: -My wife and I are fairly healthy, we primarily use our insurance for PCP visits annually -Our daughter is 1 year old and has regular infant checkups and immunizations -We are considering having a 2nd child in the near future.

Option A: PPO plan

-$3,000 Family Deductible

-$12,500 out of pocket maximum

-20% coinsurance

-$40 PCP office visit, $60 Specialist copay

-Premium is $316 per month for whole family

Option B: HDHP PPO plan that is HSA compatible

-$14,100 family deductible and out of pocket maximum (yikes!)

-Preventative care covered (I’m presuming this includes my wife and my annual appointments along with routine care for our daughter, but will verify with benefits coordinator)

-$243 premium for whole family

Obviously I would love to opt for the HSA option, but that high deductible scares me considering that our window for a potential pregnancy is in the near future. What do you all think, is it worth the risk to start now with maximizing HSA contributions or should I wait until we are done having kids?
