Insurance Business Australia’s (IB) Elite Women 2023 awards recognise exceptional female leaders in the Australian insurance industry who have achieved significant career milestones and made a meaningful contribution to the industry.

Kristy Meaton, corporate services manager at AAMC, was named one of IB’s Elite Women for 2023.

In an interview with IB, Meaton shared that she has started thriving after changing the perspective she had at the beginning of her career.

Meaton said her career was going well, climbing the career ladder. One day, she heard her female global CEO’s advice, which inspired her and helped her thrive in the competitive industry.

“A young female engineer asked for the CEO’s advice on career planning,” she told IB. “The CEO simply said, ‘focus on doing the very best you can in the role you are in, and your career will take care of itself.’”

Inspired, Meaton follows the advice to this day, making the most of the opportunities that present themselves and striving to give her all.
