Would using my family insurance make my other family member’s treatment/medication more likely to be denied?
I am on my parent's health insurance (united healthcare), but one of my parents needs to be seen by doctors every few months and have infusions every few months, and also needs medication. But I was wondering if I used the insurance for a minor procedure, would that make my insurance think that our family has been using services too much and then deny coverage in the future? I am not talking about if we go over a limit and then have to pay out of pocket, but I am wondering about if they will do something like decide a medical service is not necessary and deny coverage because we've been using insurance too much (which they wouldn't outright say is the reason, but would make up an excuse). I don't want to prevent my parent from receiving the help they need. Sorry I do not know much about health insurance, I just remember when I was younger that when something like blood tests were denied by insurance my mom would say that the insurance people were mad that we were using insurance too much. But we are on a different insurance now, and I am not even sure if what my mom said was correct. Any help will be appreciated.
