TW for alcoholism – My dad is an alcoholic and I have a question

Okay, I really hope that this doesn’t come off as me being really insensitive. I have autism so I may sound more detached that I actually am.

Basically, my dad (58) is an alcoholic. He lost his job over a year ago and isn’t really trying to get a new one. All he does is drink, smoke cigarettes, and sleep basically. He is obese and is not trying anything to get healthier. His doctors have cleared him for light exercise like going on walks and me and the rest of my family have offered to go with him but he still won’t. He’s been prescribed anti-depressants but won’t take them because they say not to take them with alcohol and he won’t stop drinking Bud Light.

He has a life insurance plan that would pay off the house so my question is, if he drinks himself to death, would we still be able to get his life insurance money or does that count as unaliving? Would it depend on how he died? I got confusing results when I tried to google it. Please help me, my mom is a mess and I want to calm her anxiety.
