Two insurance firms based in Newfoundland and Labrador will rebrand to become part of belairdirect, a subsidiary of Intact Financial Corporation.

According to a press release, both Anthony Insurance and Johnson Insurance will begin to operate under the belairdirect brand starting September 11 in Newfoundland and Labrador and October 23 in the rest of the Atlantic region.

The move will not impact the level of service provided to customers and all existing policies will remain in effect, belairdirect added.

The insurer also said it would also work to preserve the heritage and strong community connections that the two brands have built through the years.

Johnson Insurance has been serving Newfoundland for more than 130 years, while Anthony Insurance has been a prominent presence in Newfoundland and Labrador since 1953.

“I am confident this new beginning will allow us to leverage our shared expertise and complementary strengths to serve you better. Together, we will be there for our customers when they need it most and help them better.

Belairdirect has promised to continue investing in the local talent pool to reinforce its position as one of Atlantic Canada’s largest employers.

“Our promise to the Atlantic Region is simple – we are committed to providing innovative insurance solutions that fit the needs of our valued customers and affinity group members,” said Thompson.
