Everest Re Group has announced the appointment of Don Good (pictured above) as chief information security officer.

Good, a former FBI cyber veteran, will assume the role immediately and report to Srini Maddineni, Everest’s group chief information officer.

“Don’s appointment reflects our ongoing commitment to the highest level of preparedness and capabilities that protect and strengthen our technology environment across the globe,” Maddineni said. “His unique depth of experience and exceptional public and private sector credentials, combined with intimate knowledge of the cyber risk landscape will augment our information security strategy, governance, and protocols worldwide.”

Good’s responsibilities will encompass leading all aspects of Everest’s information security, including the development and implementation of programs, policies, and operations to protect the company’s data, systems, and digital assets.

Good has more than 30 years of cybersecurity, fraud prevention, and risk management expertise. He spent 21 years at the Federal Bureau of Investigation, where he served as deputy assistant director of the Cyber Division, overseeing national security and criminal cyber investigations, as well as cyber threat intelligence. Good has also held leadership positions in cybersecurity and fraud prevention at financial and technology organisations such as Ernst & Young, FTI Consulting, Citigroup, and Navigant.

“Don is a tremendous asset to our global organisation,” said Jim Williamson, Everest’s group chief operating officer and head of reinsurance. “In an increasingly complex risk landscape, Don’s expertise and leadership track record will ensure we remain vigilant and at the forefront of information security best practices for the colleagues and clients we serve.”

Good is the latest addition to Everest Re’s roster. Earlier this month, the company announced the appointment of Trevor Gallagher as head of US facultative and Bruno Laval as chief commercial officer for its international division.
