A-Plan branches celebrate the Coronation in style
Recently, the nation commemorated the coronation of King Charles and Queen Camilla with street parties, fêtes, and celebrations – and A-Plan’s branches were no exception.
Our commemorative coins were a hit!
With over 100 branches and counting, A-Plan Insurance support communities across the UK. Each branch brought out the bunting and joined in the festivities, with DIY crowns, cupcakes and specially designed chocolate coins.
With so many fantastic events up and down the high street branches, we’ve selected a few highlights of how we celebrated this historic occasion.
A-Plan Shirley’s crafty Coronation coasters
A right royal knees-up wouldn’t be right without a proper British tea party – and A-Plan Shirley made sure they had all the trimmings.
The branch worked with a local crafter, who designed wonderful wooden coasters to commemorate the occasion complete with our iconic red ‘A’ logo.
The team gave these out to visitors, as well as cupcakes, coins and crowns galore!
What’s more, the team really got into the spirit by dressing up in their most patriotic outfits, including some famous faces… All in aid of fundraising for Mind UK!

A-Plan Sutton Coldfield’s perfect paw-traits
The Royal Family’s love for dogs is well-documented: from Queen Elizabeth’s corgis to the new King and Queen’s Jack Russel terriers, which were rescued from Battersea Dogs & Cats Home. A-Plan Sutton Coldfield decided to open up their branch for a very special photoshoot, featuring customers and their canine companions.
Branch Manager Kevin Wood said: “We had a fantastic Coronation weekend, working with local photographer from Bluebell Photo Studio, who has plenty of experience getting the perfect paw-trait!
“What’s more, we were able to raise money for Birmingham Children’s Hospital, thanks to the generous donations from the pooches’ parents.”
Say ‘cheese’!
Crowning glory at A-Plan Epsom
Epsom has several royal connections through the historic college and racecourse, so the festivities were in full swing for the whole community. Wallace Fields Junior School helped our Epsom branch create some colourful crowns.
These made for a wonderful window display
Isabel Cavallino, Sales Consultant at A-Plan Epsom said: “The kids loved getting involved and it was great working with the local community.
“It has made us feel a lot more connected and not only just an insurance broker but like a place where people can recognise and know that we get involved with local events and charities.”
Biscuits fit for a King at A-Plan Luton
Ready, set, bake!
Inspired by King Charles’ own biscuit-baking endeavours with Duchy Originals, the specially made shortbread at A-Plan Luton was a hit with customers and the team.
Complete with a cuppa and the commemorative coins, customers loved these royally tasty treats.
A-Plan Thatcham gets Mayoral seal of approval
For our Thatcham branch, festivities continued throughout the weekend. Branch Manager Carlie Norwell explained: “We were able to donate our window stickers to local nurseries and pre-schools and spread the Coronation cheer across Thatcham.
“Then, the town’s celebrations really kicked off on Sunday. We shared our colour-in crowns with the local library, where everyone had fun designing their own headwear, and distributed our chocolate coins at the town tea party. They were a hit with our Mayor!”
We’re proud to be a part of communities up and down the UK, with many of our A-Plan branches running campaigns, events and activities throughout the year. If you would like to get involved, list your business on their community noticeboards or even use our space, simply give your local branch a call, or pop in for a chat.
