Malaysian retail brand AEON has teamed up with insurtech bolttech to launch a new comprehensive protection program called “AEON SAFEGUARD.”

This program combines device insurance and support services for all mobile devices and home appliances purchased at all 35 AEON stores nationwide.

The insurance coverage, underwritten by Tune Insurance Malaysia, covers customers’ new devices against accidental and liquid damage, as well as provides extended warranties for all insured devices.

The AEON SAFEGUARD protection program starts from RM25 and offers protection for up to two years. In addition to device insurance, the program offers device support services, including 24/7 technical support for usage issues, “new-in-the-market” repair concierge service, door-to-door device pick-up and delivery service, and a device trade-in service for used smartphones and tablets.

AEON’s chief merchandise and marketing officer, Low Ngai Yuen, said that the AEON SAFEGUARD program provides a convenient, all-in-one program to take care of the devices that their customers love — be it their mobile phones or other appliances in their homes.

According to Ngai Yuen, this innovative new offering, which goes beyond the traditional in-store extended warranties currently seen in the market, demonstrates AEON’s commitment to meeting customers’ expectations.

Baldev Singh, CEO of Southeast Asia at bolttech, said that the collaboration aligns with bolttech’s goal to create compliant device insurance and protection solutions that enhance their partners’ offerings and deliver more choice, convenience, and access to protection for their customers at the point of need.
