Never got the bill. Now in collections.

My wife gave birth nearly 2 years ago. Her deductible and maximum was low at $1300. We paid it to the OB but she had to do visits before birth and the OB billed after delivery so they refunded the $1300 and we expected a bill from someone else but had no idea who. Turns out it’s exact same company we had bills with the baby and we’ve been back and forth with them all of this time for baby’s bills but never knew it was them for mother too. They’ve repeatedly sent bills to wrong address and phone numbers of which we never gave these numbers or addresses and not sure where they got them from. Fast forward to 2 months ago we get a collections bill for $1100 and it had their name. We called them and they still had wrong address but since this is moms account and not baby they never corrected.

So they told us they would retract it from collections, fix address, and send bill back out. They said to not communicate with collections. That was 3/23 and we got her name. This weekend we get another collections notice so we call back and this lady says she’s never heard of getting bills back from collections, confirms wrong address still, and says she sees a call from 3/23 but the name doesn’t match… She’s extremely unhelpful and cares zero about it and refers us to the customer service email.

Any advice here? We know almost nothing about this stuff but have tried to pay our bills and basically can’t. Now i’m worried if we pay collections we get the legit bill in mail.
