Hospital Appealing what Insurance Paid

Had an emergency that I had to take my kid to a hospital over a year ago. Hospital is In Network.

EOB went through and owed nothing. I had met all my deductibles and out of pocket max. Looks like UHC revised it at some point and issued and adjustment that retracted an amount paid as an overpayment. My EOB still said I owed nothing.

Anyways just got a letter from UHC that they also sent to the hospital requesting that I send along authorization to release medical records to review the claim. I also checked the account and bill pay for the hospital and it said 0 amount due.

On the EOB summary next to the 0 dollars owed:

Total amount you owe the provider(s) The portion of the Amount Billed you owe the provider(s). This amount does not reflect any $0.00) payment you may have already made at the time you received care. This amount may include your deductible, copay, coinsurance and/or non covered charges. This amount does not include any payments made to the subscriber*. If a payment was made directly to the subscriber, you/the subscriber is responsible for paying the physician, facility or other health care professional. * When coordination of benefits applies, this amount will include payments made to the subscriber.

UHC advisor said i still owe nothing and it’s up to me to release that info when/of the hospital contacts me requesting this.

Anyways wanted to get thoughts on this situation.

Thanks!
