UHC EOB Shows Out-of-Network instead of In-Network

Looking for some insight and help. I'm in my early 20s and have yet to navigate a situation like this.

I've been seeing a Dermatologist that I found through the UHC portal since July 2022 using PPO. I've already received my EOBs and bills for my monthly visits from September to December 2022 and they all are coded as In-Network. However, my most recent EOB for August 2022 states it was Out of Network (received EOB on March 20).

I called the Derm office about the EOB and they stated that it doesn't show up as Out of Network for them. I then called UHC and they said there contract looks to be only from Sept to Dec 2022 and was out of network before. This of course doesn't make any sense because I found them through the UHC portal.

The UHC supervisor then was called and they said they would call the Derm's corporate office to figure out their contract which would take 10-15 days. The supervisor recommended I wait first to sort this out before I send a formal appeal.

Any tips or tricks to sort out this situation quickly and not getting the run around? I still have yet to receive the Derm bill and have yet to file a UHC appeal. Do I still need to pay the bill if this is getting sorted out?
