Medicaid Extended Coverage due to Covid
Hey, everyone. So in 2022 I was in Medicaid bc I was barely working due to health issues. I started working a bit more in fall, so, for the open enrollment period (Nov 22 ish), I applied for health insurance through the marketplace and qualified for a plan with tax credits due to my income.
I started using the new insurance in January and pay my monthly premium and whatnot. However, I just learned that my Medicaid is still active because of the Covid health emergency. I guess the Dept of Health Services can't boot anyone off as of yet. I got a letter saying I need to renew by Dec of 2023.
So I have unknowingly had two insurances. What do I do?? I loved my Medicaid because it had no limit on Physical therapy. My current insurance has a limit on PT for the year that I'm already almost at. Should I cancel my marketplace insurance and use the Medicaid through December? Or do I need to cancel my Medicaid and stay on my marketplace?
Will I get fucked in someway for having two insurances Jan-April without knowing?
Any info helps. Thanks!
