Help! Potentially $30k baby delivery

State: Montana

Wife owns her own business and the best option was to get insurance through the healthcare marketplace instead of my employer. Started the year with a low deductible/high premium ($3,000) plan knowing our baby would be born in mid February. In march we switched her and the baby to a high deductible/low premium ($10,000) plan, assuming the delivery would be on the first plan. Turns out it is not.

We freaked out and cancelled the high deductible plan to try to get back onto the original plan, which the person at the marketplace said we could do. This was again in march. We still have not received a letter in the mail for our new plan (the original) and are starting to worry we will not be covered for the open enrollment period or after.

The marketplace people are saying that all they can do is submit our request for insurance. The insurance company cannot confirm we have insurance through them until we get our insurance number in the mail.

Is my wife and baby currently covered? What will happen after the open enrollment ends? If we are able to get insurance after that, will it go back to the birth?
