NTI to raffle 1954 Chevrolet pickup for MND research

Transport and logistics insurer NTI will hold another luxury truck raffle to raise funds for Motor Neurone Disease (MND) research.
A 1954 hot-lava orange Chevrolet cab over engine (COE) hot rod pickup truck named Daphne is to be the sixth truck raffled for charity MND & Me Foundation.
NTI has raised more than $1.5 million for MND research in honour of former CEO Wayne Patterson, who was diagnosed with the condition in 2015 and died three years later.
NTI CEO Tony Clark says Daphne was purchased by a young Australian working on a US farm. It has a Chevrolet LT1 8 cylinder fuel injected engine, automatic transmission, a 1969 Chevrolet C-20 chassis and custom interior with leather seats, electric windows, multimedia, timber floor, alloy wheels, steel fuel tank and LED lights.
“While the truck might be mid-century, she’s got modern features,” Mr Clark said.
Daphne, valued at $200,000, will be displayed at the National Diesel Dirt & Turf Expo in Sydney on April 21-23, MotorEx in Melbourne on May 6-7, the Brisbane Truck Show on May 18-21 and Cooly Rocks On Festival at the Gold Coast on June 7-11.
The raffle will be drawn July 9 at the NTI Supercars Round at Reid Park, Townsville
Every day in Australia, two people are diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND), and two people die of MND.
“We established the official NTI MND Research Grant to help fund research into treatment and to ultimately find a cure,” Mr Clark said.
Raffle tickets can be purchased here. The prize also includes delivery and 12 months registration and insurance.
