Ardonagh publishes sustainability report for the first time

“In 2022 we created a sustainability steering committee to formalise the company’s commitment to sustainability initiatives. However, our sustainability journey began many years earlier with the launch of the Ardonagh Community Trust.”

Last year, highlighted Tiner, Ardonagh also became a signatory to the UN Principles of Sustainable Insurance. He said the group is in the process of adopting the principles into Ardonagh’s governance framework to not only help shape its sustainability programme but also provide a means for recording progress.

“In this report,” Tiner said, “we are documenting our approach to sustainability and reporting on the progress made across the group platforms as we have begun the process of embedding key sustainability matters. We are also providing further disclosures including, for the first time, our response to the recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures.”

The chair asserted that Ardonagh’s commitment to sustainability is steadfast and that its approach will evolve as the insurance group continues to make progress.

“Throughout this report, you’ll see some case study examples of how we’re engaging with clients on everything – from supporting the transition to a low-carbon economy to advocating for workforce diversity, equity, and inclusion, to finding solutions for managing pandemic risk,” noted Tiner, who also chairs the sustainability committee.

Meanwhile, chief executive David Ross said they “don’t take lightly the responsibility” to provoke thought and lead action in support of environmental and community initiatives.

“Ardonagh has grown effectively because our businesses are powered by people who want to leave their projects and teams and communities better than they found them,” declared the CEO. “This sustainable leadership is centered around building a legacy which will continue to benefit clients and employees for years to come.”
