Overpaid as a student, now worried I will lose my health insurance (California)

I have been a student for the past year doing an externship at a company where they are paying me a small stipend every month. The stipend is very low and the company doesn't offer any benefits to students, so I took advantage of health insurance through Covered California. Because of my small income, my monthly medical insurance payment has been completely free (Anthem Silver 87 EPO). However, starting in January of this year, the company I've been a student at has accidentally paid me double in every paycheck, meaning it now looks like I make twice as much as I claimed when I reapplied for Covered California insurance for 2023. I brought this up to the company's HR and payroll department at the end of January and it still has not been resolved. I have now been overpaid by thousands of dollars and I am requesting for them to deduct all of the overpaid funds from my bank account so that there is an obvious paper trail. However, I graduated earlier this month and I am now being hired on full-time as an employee at the company next month. I am worried that they are going to slowly deduct the overpaid funds from my paychecks, which will make it a lot more complicated to prove that I was overpaid.

So here is my question: what the heck do I do about my health insurance? I am very worried that I am going to owe hundreds of dollars because of a payroll mistake and/or I will be disqualified. I don't know what to do and there have been no updates from the company's HR or payroll department. I will also add that this is a VERY, VERY big national company with thousands of sites across the U.S., so I don't want to go down the legal route unless I absolutely have to. Any advice would be great!
