QBE announces high-level staff changes

Report proposes 'self-funding' insurance model for export industries

QBE has “reorganised its Australian operating model”, leading to new roles and the departure of Phil White, who has worked with the company since 2006.

In a statement to insuranceNEWS.com.au, QBE says it has reorganised around two broad customer segments – Consumer and Business – as part of aims to enhance customer value and experience.

GM for Partnerships & Specialty Elliot Hill has been appointed to the role of MD Business.

“In this role, Mr Hill will have full responsibility across the Business segment previously known as Commercial Lines, including customer experience, portfolio management, channel pricing, sales and distribution across SME, Mid-Market, Corporate, Agriculture (including Elders Insurance), Regional and Trade Credit customers,” QBE says.

Personal Lines Chief Customer Officer Eleanor Debelle has been appointed to the role of MD – Consumer.

“The Consumer segment teams have primary responsibility for managing Direct and Affinity Partners channels and Consumer and Micro customers. Lenders Mortgage Insurance and QBE’s partnership with CHU will also be managed by Debelle and her teams.”

Chief Customer Officer Commercial Lines Jason Clarke has moved to report to QBE Group CEO Andrew Horton, “to help create a global distribution function”.

“Clarke will work closely with the Divisional CEOs and distribution teams to improve the level of enterprise alignment and ways of working with global broker partners and ensure QBE is maximising the value of its distribution expertise across the globe,” the statement says.

Mr White, Chief Customer Officer Credit Lines and CEO QBE Lenders Mortgage Insurance, will be leaving QBE “as part of these changes”.
