Help, changing insurance when I become a stay at home mom with my second child.

I have wonderful health insurance at my current job and am changing to my husband’s job’s plan which seems significantly worse. There are 3 options and I’ll have 2 under 2. This is all for the family plan:

200/month for low PPO -10k annual deductible -70% coinsurance -17k out of pocket max -good copays on simple things like Teladoc, primary care, and rx

400/month for HDHP -8k annual deductible -90% coinsurance -12k out of pocket max -primary care and specialty is 10%(after deductible), generic rx, 10%(after deductible). Pretty much everything on this plan is after deductible.

840/month for high PPO -4k annual deductible -100% coinsurance -8k out of pocket max -reasonable copays for rx and primary care

Why does the middle plan seem worse? Does 10% after deductible basically mean if you haven’t reached your deductible, you are paying out of pocket?

Is the cheapest plan good as long as no crazy emergency arises?

What is coinsurance?

Any other tips/things to look out for? The insurance plan is Aetna, but provided through husband’s employer.
