NIBA set for new president, board members

13 February 2023

The National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) will soon announce a new president and other changes to its board, with the annual general meeting scheduled for Thursday next week.

Dianne Phelan, BJS Insurance Operations Manager, will step down as president following the completion of a two-year term, but will remain on the board.

Queensland Division Director Heather Peirano will step down after six years, while Lynette Walsh will fill a position vacated by Eric Harris, who retired at the end of last year after 10 years on the board, including a term as president from 2019 to 2021.

NIBA CEO Phil Kewin says an additional director will be appointed in a position representing listed networks, adding a representative from PSC, in addition to the existing Steadfast and Austbrokers directors.

Voting for the vacant Queensland and WA director roles will be concluded before the AGM and the full board will be announced at the end of the AGM and following board meeting.
