Lawrie Insurance Group names new chief operating officer
Lawrie Insurance Group (LIG) has announced that it has named Paul Martin, CIP as its new chief operating officer.
As chief operating officer, Martin will work directly and in collaboration with LIG’s teams in driving growth and operational success, particularly when it comes to the company’s core multi-disciplined business units – commercial lines, personal lines, employee benefits, group retirement, and life & living benefits.
Martin has multiple years of insurance industry leadership and experience and was the former president of the Insurance Institute of Ontario. A release mentioned that apart from his professionalism and love for the insurance industry, he is also active in community work; Martin is co-chair of the WICC Relay for Life and a board member of Victim Services of York Region.
“We are thrilled to have Paul join the Lawrie Insurance Group team to bring his experience, leadership, and professionalism in elevating the execution of our long-term strategies and shared commitment to fierce broker independence,” said LIG CEO Bob Lawrie in a statement.
Last November, LIG commemorated its 40th anniversary with a $40,000 donation to Mohawk College. The donation will be used by the school to provide direct financial support to students within the insurance and business administration programs.
