ARAG appoints CII prize winner to key underwriting role

ARAG has appointed Laura-Jo Howard to the strategically important position of BTE Underwriting Manager. At the end of last year, the CII announced that Laura-Jo had won the Alison Ecob Memorial prize, as a result of her performance in completing the Advanced Diploma in Insurance and achieving the highest mark in the Risk Management in Insurance module.

Laura-Jo started her insurance career at Direct Line Group, shortly after graduating from university, and joined ARAG’s BTE Underwriting team as an Underwriting Assistant, in 2011.

Commenting on the appointment, Underwriting Director David Haynes stated “Laura-Jo’s success is a real validation, not just of ARAG’s commitment to developing our staff, but also of our strong belief in the importance of CII qualification. The great career she is enjoying at ARAG is a credit to her dedication and hard work and she thoroughly deserves both this promotion and the prize she has been awarded by the CII.”

As BTE Underwriting Manager, Laura-Jo takes on responsibility for the performance of ARAG’s wide range of before-the-event legal expenses insurance and insured assistance products.
