I think it’s safe to say there’s no greater rivalry in the history of motorsport than the one between the Fiat Multipla and the Chevrolet Corvette. Finally, that rivalry has been settled, with a battle on the Nurburgring, and, as most of you probably guessed, we have a winner: the Multipla. Specifically, a 1999 Fiat Multipla people-mover with over 160,000 miles on the clock.

Sure, I’m not really certain the ‘Vette driver even realized they were racing anyone, but you have to admit that the driver of this 100 horsepower tall, alien-family-car-looking box is sure doing a hell of a job out on the track. Here, watch:

The driver is Gabriele Piana, a professional driver, and the group fielding the Mutipla seems to be One Lap Heroes, who talk about bigger future plans for the humble brute:

I always knew the Multipla would one day show up the Corvette. I bet now we’ll see guys going through mid-life crises buying shiny red late ‘90s Multiplas all over the place.
