Dudley – Nancy Jane A. Vajcovec, 75, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by the love of her family and friends on Saturday, November 26, 2022. Nancy was born in 1947, the daughter of John and Jenny (Nezuh) Vajcovec. She graduated from Bartlett High School in 1964 and earned her BS in Mathematics at the University of Massachusetts Amherst where she was a member of the Sigma Alpha MU sorority. After graduation, Nancy took a position at The Hartford Insurance Company. She spent her entire career at The Hartford until her retirement at age 55.

After her retirement, Nancy moved back to Dudley and built her home on her family’s land on Hayden Pond. She loved entertaining at the “Vac Shack” and her family and friends spent many happy evenings gathering on her deck for a celebration or just a fun get-together. She was an animal lover, and over the years, her dogs and cats gave her much joy, particularly KoKo, her last dog. Nancy loved travelling especially on cruises and she also enjoyed casinos. She was very generous with her casino perks and shared them with friends and family.

Her retirement gave her the opportunity to give her time and talents to many charitable organizations. She was on the Dudley Conservation Commission and President of the Hayden Pond Association. She was co-founder and active member of the Dudley Women’s Club, a member of the Black Tavern Historical Society and the French River Connection. She also volunteered at, and was an active member of, St Andrew Bobola Church.
