Jones DesLaurier appoints new CEO


Independent insurance broker Jones DesLauriers has announced the appointment of Scott Irwin (pictured) as president and CEO.

Irwin brings over 16 years of industry experience to the role, including 14 years as one of the firm’s top risk advisors. Jones DesLaurier is a broker partner of Navacord, one of the largest commercial insurance brokers in Canada, and offers commercial and benefits insurance.

“I couldn’t be more pleased to take on this next chapter,” said Irwin. “I know this business is strong and we are leaders in the industry and with clients. I’m excited to support the journey and our people as we embark on this next phase of growth.”

Irwin will be accountable for the overall strategic vision and growth of the business. He began as an account manager in 2008 before becoming an account executive focused on sales.

Jones DesLauriers also announced key contributing leadership roles. Danny Sgro, former senior partner in the firm, has been appointed chairman. Patty McNeil, former VP of commercial lines, has been named chief operating officer of Jones DesLauriers. Michael Bastone, managing partner, has taken on the additional role of chief sales officer.
