Open IT overhauled to manage demand peaks

5 December 2022

Information technology at Open Insurance has been redesigned by CMD Solutions in a detailed network overhaul.

Open GM Engineering John Halls says the overhaul “was tailored to suit the current and future requirements of a multi-region compliant environment” and ensures the Open platform can “handle unexpected peaks in demand”.

Open provides embedded insurance products and services for brands such as Bupa, ahm and Telstra, some via Huddle Insurance. It uses artificial intelligence and data science to “give customers more competitive prices”.

“We now have a more modern, scalable and highly available environment which ensures Open’s workloads stay in step with the latest in cloud innovation and best practice,” Mr Halls said.

CMD, which will provide ongoing service to Open, won two accolades at 2022 Amazon Web Services (AWS) awards, for local Services and local Migration Partner.
