Sun Life Hong Kong has appointed Eleonore Chow (picture) as its new general manager for agency.

In her new role, Chow will head Sun Life Hong Kong’s agency channels, as well as take over its core distribution functions. In this role, she will continue to grow the size and capabilities of the company’s agency force, including cultivating the agency force of individuals in mainland China to help transform its business model.

“We are delighted to welcome Eleonore onboard to spearhead our agency strategy,” said Clement Lam, CEO of Sun Life Hong Kong. “Agency growth is the most fundamental piece in our transformation journey, so her deep experience in agency and distribution will be instrumental as we continue to grow our agency force. I am confident that Eleonore’s appointment will help us achieve our aspiration of being the market leading player in the insurance industry.”

Chow joins Sun Life with nearly 30 years of insurance industry experience. She was previously the chief partnership distribution officer at AXA Hong Kong and Macau, responsible for formulating strategy and leading teams to deliver business targets. She has also held several senior positions at other major insurance companies.

“It is my honour to join Sun Life Hong Kong to supervise its agency force, as well as to develop the business strategy for the company’s future agency growth,” Chow said. “I look forward to building a close rapport with the agency force as well as business partners to improve performance and achieve our strategic ambitions.”
