wife and I quit jobs and moved- need insurance for potential upcoming pregnancy

If I am currently uninsured (working part time without benefits and did not secure ACA health insurance during open enrollment) and I need to have surgery before open enrollment next year, can I quit my part time job to join another with benefits to gain health insurance? Do I need to wait til 2023?

Hi guys,

Just hoping to be pointed in the right direction here. Wife and I are 37 and 38, and left jobs in Florida in September to move to be closer to family in TX. We had employer based healthcare prior to resigning and moving. I do not expect my wife will get a job before the year end, but am hopeful that I can pull that off. We are trying to have a baby, or plan to try as soon as we get proper coverage for this again. We had a miscarriage about 6 months ago in Florida that was one of the things that showed us being close to family is important. So, I need good coverage for myself and my wife, especially considering she is going to be a high risk pregnancy. The HMO plans I see on Healthcare.gov are all around 1200 a month, for the two of us. I made 2499 a week up through August, so around 80k. Wife made around 22k through August. Am I really looking at 12k plus a year in coverage that doesn’t look great? Sincere apologies if this is in the wrong place, looking for any helpful advice. TIA!
