Lloyd’s to hold special "Meet the Market" event for Canada

Lloyd’s is showing its commitment to providing Canada’s insurers with the right solutions and networking opportunities by holding the latest iteration of its “Meet the Market” event next week, October 12, 2022.

This year’s Meet the Market event will be held at the Liberty Grand in Toronto, ON. Heading up the opening remarks is Marc Lipman, president of Lloyd’s of London’s Canadian operations.

Patrick Tiernan, Lloyd’s chief of markets will provide updates on upcoming market opportunities, Lloyd’s unique strengths, and priority areas such as digitalization, performance and ESG. This is followed by a Futureset panel debate exploring the knock-on effect of the Ukraine crisis on the global insurance industry. Lloyd’s will have a panel of industry experts at the event who will discuss how businesses and insurers can collaborate to better understand and navigate the new risk landscape.

Following the panel debate, there will be an opportunity for MTM networking. Finally, the day will be capped off with a cocktail reception.

Lloyd’s will also recreate its famous Underwriting Room for the event, featuring a series of “boxes” hosted by syndicate underwriters and Lloyd’s brokers representing multiple classes of business with the insurance market.

“The event presents a great opportunity to increase awareness and establish valuable new business contacts,” Lloyd’s has stated.

Meet the Market is open to retail, wholesale and reinsurance brokers, as well as Lloyd’s coverholders and risk managers. Registration for the event is open on Lloyd’s website.
