John Doyle named next Marsh McLennan President, CEO

3 October 2022

Marsh McLennan says John Doyle will take over as President and CEO from January, with Daniel Glaser set to retire after a decade leading the group.

Mr Doyle was president of the Marsh broking business from 2017 to 2021 and has been COO and Group President for Marsh McLennan since the start of the year.

“John has been an indispensable partner to me and the other members of our executive committee in delivering on our strategy,” Mr Glaser said.

“He knows our businesses well and is focused on creating best-in-class solutions for our clients. I am confident that this organisation’s extraordinary success will continue under John’s leadership.”

Mr Doyle has more than 30 years of management experience in commercial insurance underwriting and brokerage. He began his career at AIG, where he held several executive positions, including CEO of AIG Commercial Insurance, and President and CEO of AIG Property and Casualty in the US.

Mr Glaser will also leave the company’s board of directors on retiring as President and CEO, positions he has held since 2013.

Mr Glaser rejoined Marsh McLennan in December 2007 as Chairman and CEO of Marsh, returning to the firm where he began his career in 1982.
