Meanwhile, Stevens joined AILA in 1999 after attending her first AILA National Conference in Hobart. She was a committee member of the association’s Queensland branch for more than 10 years, including serving as a secretary for seven years and state president in 2021. She was also an AILA National Board member from 2007 to 2011.

During the latest national conference, Roberts also presented the annual 2022 Insurance Law Prize to Justice Mark Livesey, president of the South Australian Court of Appeal, for being a “long-time supporter of AILA, both as a member, friend, and presenter at numerous events and conferences.”

AILA is a national organisation initially established to promote, review, develop, and debate insurance issues. Early this year, it rebranded to clear any misconceptions about its purpose.
