University cancelled my student insurance more than a month after my last effective date, because I’m part-time. What can I do?

I’m (F24) a graduate student in my 3rd year. I just got the notice that they dropped me from school insurance today via email. Per my last year of insurance, my last effective day was 08/14/2022. I was going to join back on my parents’ insurance, but the caveat there was that it was no more than 30 days out from last effective day.

I work part-time for the university and off-campus, so I can’t get health insurance through these places because I work less than 30 hrs/week (I’m forbidden above 20 at school). I know loss of health insurance is considered a qualifying event (I think? I’m over my head here with things to learn about health insurance). Where do I go from here?

I will mention that I go to doctors frequently at the moment. I was diagnosed with narcolepsy last year and have been going to a doctor for that, a psychiatrist, and a family doctor in order to get me right with medications. I was also in the midst of changing my sleep doctor until learning this today. It is vital for me to enroll in health insurance ASAP so that I may continue to pay for medications as well as doctors visits.

Thank you everyone. I appreciate anyone who reads this and or provides feedback.
