New FM Global regional Senior VP named as part of leadership shake-up

Recently appointed FM Global Senior VP APAC Division Manager James Thompson will have oversight of all the US mutual insurer’s Asia-Pacific operations including Australia, the business says.

FM Global announced Mr Thompson’s new role last week, along with other top executive movements internally.

Mr Thompson, who is based in Melbourne, was previously VP, Manager, Global Sales in the APAC region.

He takes over from Ziad Alex S. Tadmoury, who has a new role as Senior VP AFM division manager, the insurer’s commercial property insurance unit for the middle market. AFM provides tailored underwriting expertise and property loss control engineering through a select international network of broker partners.

Andrew Stafford has been appointed Operations Senior VP, Operations Manager, Australia and New Zealand, taking over from Lynette Schultheis who now oversees FM Global’s Western division, based in Texas.

Mr Stafford, based in Sydney, will assume responsibility for the business in Australia and reports to Mr Thompson. He was previously Regional Senior VP AFM EMEA and Australia.

Hian Hong Tan has been named Operations Senior VP, Operations Manager, Asia, and will assume responsibility for the Asia operations.

Mr Tan was previously VP, Division Underwriting Manager, responsible for Asia and Australia. He is based in Singapore and will report to Mr Thompson.
