QBE ad campaign aimed at SMEs

25 August 2022

QBE today released a new advertising campaign showcasing the insurer’s range of product offerings for more than 5000 small business types.

The marketing is part of the insurer’s push into the sector, which includes modernising its systems to improve the way business is transacted with brokers.

QBE CEO Andrew Horton said this month improved digital technology is particularly important in transacting with clients at the “smaller end” of the commercial sector, compared with mid-market and larger businesses, and it’s an area QBE is targeting.

QBE says the national campaign will feature across radio, social media, digital display and press.

“The campaign ties into QBE’s broader SME initiative, with a new direct product offering launched that enables small businesses within select criteria to secure quick and simple insurance quotes online,” the insurer said in a statement.

“This is in addition to the wider coverage options already available via QBE’s broker partners, that offer tailored solutions for business customers.”

The first day of the campaign focuses on two new small business owners, a cafe operator and a tradie, in two 30-second TV commercials. The commercials aim to highlight the ongoing challenges of operating a small business and how easy it is to get back on track with QBE Insurance when things don’t go to plan.

“At QBE, we understand that small business owners want to set themselves up for a better future, and we want to enable that,” Australia Pacific Head of Marketing & Insights David Hirsch said.

“Not only do we provide tailored insurance for small businesses, we also provide advice on how they can manage and reduce their specific risks before they become an issue, and when the unforeseen does occur, we’re there ‘On Q’ after.”
