What makes Gallagher and AXA top insurance employers?

Gallagher is one of the world’s largest insurance brokerage, risk management, and consulting firms. It has more than 39,000 employees across the globe, helping people and businesses move forward confidently despite facing a challenging market. So, what made it one of the top insurance employers in Australia this year? IB’s research found that during the company’s 90 years in business, one thing has remained consistent: ethics.

“Gallagher operates a little differently from other insurance brokers by being the only brokerage to be named one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies 11 times in a row. That means more than 850 offices in over 65 countries all operate in a way that upholds ethical business practices and puts clients first,” the IB team found.

Another insurance giant that made it to this year’s list is AXA XL, which combines a strong and efficient capital platform, data-driven insights, leading technology, and the best talent in an agile and inclusive workspace.

Catherine Carlyon, country manager for Australia at AXA XL, told IB that the company aims to become a trusted expert and partner in risk, protecting what matters to its clients, colleagues, and communities.

“Our values reflect who we are and how we think and act to shape the company culture. Our values are ‘Customer First, Integrity, Courage, and One AXA.’ Our thinking starts with our clients and brokers, which shapes our decisions. We trust our judgment to do the right thing for our customers, employees, stakeholders, and partners. We communicate clearly and act to make things happen. We act as one team,” Carlyon said.
